Jason is an actor, director, and educator. He is currently the Artistic Director for The Nashville Shakespeare Festival. He served as the Associate Artistic Director for the Lyric Repertory Company from 2018 - 2022 and Lyric's Artistic Associate / Resident Director through 2024.
Jason is a proud graduate of the two-year professional actor training program at PCPA - The Pacific Conservatory Theatre. Jason holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in acting from Webster University’s Conservatory of Theatre Arts and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in acting from the University of California, Irvine.
Professional directing credits include An Iliad and Romeo and Juliet at the Tony Award-Winning Utah Shakespeare Festival and Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, Mamma Mia!, and Disney's Freaky Friday at the Lyric Repertory Company. Upcoming projects include Floyd Collins and Amadeus.
Educational directing credits include Xanadu, The Game of Love and Chance, Big Fish, Twelfth Night, The Great God Pan, Rabbit Hole and Dogfight (Utah State University), Cinderella, and Urinetown – The Musical (Studio at Sage Hill). Upcoming projects include Floyd Collins at the University of Utah - Department of Theatre and Dance.
Jason has taught acting locally, nationally, and internationally over the past twenty years. Teaching credits included workshops at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE, where he led classes on Unlocking Shakespeare’s Text – Shakespeare Made Easy. At Utah State University, Jason teaches courses in Acting, Musical Theatre, Classic Comedy, Directing, Stage Combat (Unarmed, Rapier, and Broadsword), and Movement for the Actor.
Jason’s acting credits include Juliet in the UK Premiere of Joe Calarco’s Shakespeare’s R&J at the Arts Theatre, West End, London. Other Credits include the Bath Shakespeare Festival, PCPA/Theaterfest, Centerpoint Theatre, Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, Shakespeare East—Boston, Great River Shakespeare Festival, Musical Theatre West—Long Beach, and six seasons at the Tony Award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival.
Jason is a proud member of both Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC).
